Yaskawa Robot Coordinated Motion Function

Recently, we received a customer inquiry about how to achieve synchronized motion between a robot and external fixture axis during welding operations.

The coordinated control function enables the robot and external fixture axis to perform operations while moving in coordination with each other.

In a fixture axis coordinated system, the fixture axis holds the workpiece, while the robot holds the working tool.
Both axes move in coordination to complete the operation.

To run the fixture axis and the robot simultaneously, a coordinated program must be taught.it includes:
Coordinated interpolation, where the fixture axis and robot perform relative motion based on a master–slave relationship
Individual interpolation, where the robot or fixture axis performs independent motions.

Note: When one fixture axis is coordinated with two or more robots, the axis group expansion function is required.
