Maintenance of Yaskawa Robot Cooling System

Improper functioning of the cooling fan or heat exchanger may cause the internal temperature of the DX200/YRC1000 controller cabinet to rise, potentially affecting internal components. Therefore, it is important to regularly inspect the cooling fan and heat exchanger.

⚠️ Caution:
Before inspecting the cooling fan, always disconnect the power to avoid electric shock. If inspection must be performed while the unit is powered, please proceed with extreme caution.

The internal air circulation fan and heat exchanger operate when the main power is ON. The rear cooling fan operates when servo power is ON. Please visually inspect and feel the airflow at the intake and exhaust ports to confirm whether they are functioning correctly. Refer to the diagram below for the layout of the cooling system.

Note:

While checking the fans, please also clean the intake and exhaust vents on the resin wiring panel inside the cabinet door. When cleaning, use diluted neutral detergent to avoid damaging the resin parts.

Air Filter Maintenance (YRC1000 Example)

Follow the steps below to inspect and clean the air filter of the heat exchanger on the YRC1000 control cabinet:

1. Open the filter cover by sliding it to the left.
   If the cover is dirty, clean the intake and exhaust areas using an air blower.
   For heavy contamination, clean gently using a diluted neutral detergent to avoid resin damage.

2. Remove the air filter kit mounted with clips above and below the fan unit.

3. If the air filter is dusty, detach the filter from the frame and clean it using an air blower.
   For heavier contamination, wash it with warm water (approx. 40°C).
   After washing, allow the filter to dry completely before reinstalling.
   If the dirt cannot be removed, replace the air filter.

4. Reattach the cleaned air filter kit by securing its clips into the grooves above and below the fan. Ensure it is firmly installed.

5. Close the cover by sliding it to the right.
